Jessica Schicks a Senior Investment Officer for financial institutions at the Belgian Investment Company for Developing Countries (BIO). Her focus is on financial institutions that support microenterprises and financial inclusion in Africa. Before joining BIO, she was the COO of AB Bank Zambia in the Access Holding Network and a Senior Banking Advisor for LFS Financial Systems. She previously worked as an international banking consultant with McKinsey & Company. She has also worked on a broad range of short-term engagements in the public and private sector, including microfinance work with KfW the German development bank, with the United Nations Capital Development Fund, and with an Opportunity International MFI in Ghana.
Jessica holds a PhD in Economics and Management from Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management, Université Libre de Bruxelles. She also holds a Masters’ level degree in Economics and Management from University of Witten/Herdecke, Germany, and an MPhil in Development Studies from the University of Cambridge, UK.
