Biography

Jeremy Gorelick is the Senior Infrastructure Finance Advisor on the WASH-FIN program, a 5-year USD 40 million facility launched in 2016 by the United States Agency for International Development. Professor Gorelick is a specialist in municipal finance with over 15 years of experience in developing and implementing complex financial systems. He served as the lead technical and financial advisor to the City of Dakar in preparation for the launch of West Africa’s first municipal bond. He has worked closely with both bi-lateral/multilateral DFIs as well as NGOs including the World Bank, UNCDF, UN-Habitat, USAID, DFID, GIZ, AFD, Water and Sanitation for Africa, Reall (formerly Homeless International) and Water and Sanitation for the Urban Poor. He received his MA in international economics from the Johns Hopkins University and his PhD in Environmental and Geographical Science from the University of Cape Town.
