Biography

Vymala Poligadu Thuron currently heads the Group Programme Development and Gender Lens Investing at GroFin, a Private Development & Impact financier investing in SMEs, operating in 15 countries in Africa and the Middle East. She has a solid understanding of private sector and international development gained through over twenty years of experience. Vymala Thuron is a seasoned Communication Expert, Corporate and Public Affairs Expert, as well as a Project Management and Partnership Engagement Expert. She has a long track record in the technical community and is well-known in the ecosystem. Vymala Thuron is passionate about the closing the gender gap and value reaching the SDG 2030. Vymala Thuron runs efforts to establish, develop and strengthen relationships with partners to broaden organisation’s impact and reach. She has a solid understanding of membership based organisation, associations, private sector and international development organisations. She holds a master’s in international Affairs and a Masters in Finance from Sorbonne Paris, France. Vymala has been instrumental in developing the Gender Lens Investing programme, working in close collaboration with the Board and leadership of GroFin as well as other key stakeholders supporting this initiative including DFI’s namely DGGF, Norfund and FMO. She has also work closely with MEDA in developing the Gender Lens Strategy and has also worked with the 2XChallenge and Invest2Impact initiative.
