Biography

Nabeel is the Head of International Private Equity, a business unit within Old Mutual Alternative Investments (OMAI). Nabeel heads the International Private Equity Fund of Funds programme. The programme comprises a number of global as well as Africa focussed private equity fund of funds.

In this position, Nabeel is a member of various external advisory boards. At OMAI he is a member of the Exco, Risk Committee and the Investor Relations and Marketing Committee.

Prior to joining OMAI, Nabeel spent time as an entrepreneur before joining one of the big four where he completed his articles and audited some of the biggest companies in South Africa. He then joined one of South Africa’s main banks, participating in debt transactions across leveraged finance, project finance and balance sheet lending. Thereafter he was engaged by the Mergers and Acquisitions team of Deloitte’s Corporate Finance Advisory business, where he advised on transactions across various industries.

Nabeel is a Chartered Accountant, a CFA Charterholder and has passed the JSE Sponsor Development Programme exams.
