Biography

Michael Akampa an impact investment professional with over 13 years’ experience working in African and global financial markets. He was the Co-founder of RE Equity Partners and Traction Capital, Sweden based investment companies active in emerging and frontier markets. Prior to that, Michael Akampa worked in various key roles in the Treasury and Investment departments of local, regional and international banks where his knack for deal structuring was developed. Over the last decade, he has structured and closed several transactions in real estate, agriculture, technology, energy, and infrastructure, among others. With a Background in Development Economics, Michael Akampa also has advanced Masters degrees in Financial Management, and in Risk Analysis, and is currently a Doctoral Researcher in Financial Engineering at Stockholm University. He is a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment, and the Association of Corporate Treasurers.
