Biography

Maleda is Country Head of the Tony Blair Institute’s project in Ethiopia. She leads a team of 20 staff focused on the Jobs Creation and Economic Transformation agenda of the country. She manages TBI’s projects on policy advisory, implementation of reforms and institution strengthening across multiple government priorities including; investment, industrial parks, state owned enterprise reform and digital transformation. Previously, Maleda had been advising at the Ethiopian Investment Commission to support industrialization, investment promotion and investment climate improvements.

Prior to moving to Ethiopia and joining TBI, Maleda was a manager at Deloitte in Canada advising manufacturing and energy sector clients on strategically aligning their investment programs with attractive government incentives. In Canada, she was also a manufacturing engineer in global leading manufacturing companies working on production efficiency and supply chain management initiatives.
