Biography
Founder and CEO of NetBizImpact Ltd – an investment facilitation and strategic advisory firm based out of Nairobi, Kenya. NetBizImpact provides tailored investment advisory services to a diverse set of clients with a particular focus on linking innovative and high-impact African small and growing agribusinesses (and related sectors) to market, capital and technology. NetBizImpact works in partnership with local and international stakeholders to promote agropreneurship-led industrialization in Africa.
Ms. Tsegaye is an executive with record of guiding private sector companies from concept to growth and profit across multiple sectors. Experience directing $30-500 million USD multi-country projects/initiatives, and brokering senior-level coordination and partnership across a wide scope of stakeholders. Extensive network of professional contacts, particularly in enterprise development, agribusiness development, and innovative value chain investment opportunities in East and West Africa – linking high-impact small and growing businesses with market, capital and technology. Extensive related training from Yale University, US Federal Executive Institute, and USAID, among others. Member to various professional networks including the Aspen Network of Development Entrepreneurs (ANDE) where she serves as the Steering Committee member of the East Africa Chapter. ANDE supports an ecosystem of social enterprises and investors that aim to solve the world’s challenging problems through entrepreneurship and inclusive and responsible investment. In 2015, Ms. Tsegaye was invited by UN/Women to co-author (along with 15 other thought leaders) a strategy for Upscaling Rural Women’s Technologies in Africa and facilitated innovation clinics focusing on commercialization. Ms. Tsegaye participated in various expert panels and juries focusing on innovation, agricultural value chain investment and impact investment in East Africa. Ms. Tsegaye was nominated to be conferred with Center for Economic Development (CELD’s) Global Female Leaders Impact Award and inducted into the Global Women Leaders Hall of Fame on December 14th, 2017. She was a panelist at the 5th “Transformational CEO’s” South America-Africa-Middle East-Asia” Women Summit (SAMEAWS) held on 14th December in Dubai-UAE 2017.
She was appointed as an organizing committee of the Africa Trade and Investment Global Summit (ATIGS) held from June 25-26, 2018 in Washington DC.
Ms. Tsegaye is a national of Ethiopia and currently resides in Nairobi Kenya and works throughout East Africa.
