Biography
Lory Camba Opem is Global Lead for Responsible Finance at IFC’s Financial Inclusion, SME and Digital Financial Services Practice. She provides over 20 years of finance and private sector expertise in investment-advisory operations covering Africa and Asia, including in fragile and conflict-affected areas. She has structured and managed IFC advisory engagements in financial inclusion, SME banking, risk management, credit reporting, insurance, housing, retail/payments systems, mobile banking and digital finance. She represents IFC as a co-founding member of the Responsible Finance Forum, a global platform convening investors, innovators and industry to foster public-private sector collaboration in digital inclusion. She provides strategic expertise as a member of the GSMA Mobile Money Certification Advisory Group and represents IFC as a co-lead implementing partner for the G20 Global Partnership for Financial Inclusion. Prior to joining IFC, Lory was at PwC Management Consulting in the International Privatization Group for East Asia & Pacific Region. At the Economic Policy Institute, she conducted research and data analytics to develop economic policies in international trade & finance, education, labor (women and youth), consumer trends and poverty issues. Lory holds an M.A in International Development from the American University; B.A. in Economics and Political Science with Honors from the George Washington University.
