Biography
Jesse is an Associate Partner in Dalberg’s London office. His experience, primarily in Africa and with a special focus on development finance and agriculture, includes financial and economic analysis, fund structuring, business model development, and market entry strategies.
At Dalberg, Jesse has worked on several investment fund design exercises and feasibility studies in renewable energy, agricultural lending, and health. Other recent work in development finance includes a study of the green bonds market for a group of development banks, an analysis of trends in responsible investing among large-scale asset allocators, and transaction advisory work in the energy access sector. Jesse’s recent work in agriculture includes support to a major donor to prioritize strategic interventions to address key agricultural finance bottlenecks, the refinement of business and operating models for a multi-stakeholder value chain development initiative, and commercialization strategy development for an aflatoxin control technology aimed at smallholder farmers.
Prior to Dalberg, Jesse served on the Analytics Team at the Ethiopian government’s Agricultural Transformation Agency, and in the Finance and Risk practice at the consultancy Oliver Wyman, advising financial sector clients in the US and emerging markets. Jesse has a BA from the University of Pennsylvania and a Masters in International Development from Columbia University (SIPA).
