Biography

“Mr. Seeruttun is a professional Accountant and holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration with specialization in Finance.

In 1992, Mr. Seeruttun joined the Mauritius Sugar Industry Research Institute where he left the Finance and Administration Department to head the Finance team at a major conglomerate. He was first elected in 2010 and served as Member of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) between July 2010 and October 2014.

After the December 2014 general elections, he was appointed Minister of Agro Industry and Food Security. Since November 2019, he is serving as Minister of Financial Services and Good Governance. Mr. Seeruttun is accredited in successfully leading the Mauritius International Financial Centre exiting the FATF grey list and in 2022 achieving 40/40 on the FATF requirements.”
