Biography

Greg Marchand is a Partner at Avencion Group, an emerging technology, consulting and investment advisory firm focused on operations optimization and digital transformation in high-growth industries. At a glance:

He has experience working with investors and organizations to understand the financial implications of change and maximizing the return on investments in technology, processes, business development and operational efficiency. Greg works with organizational leaders to understand their key drivers and determine operational, technology and cultural shifts that drive revenue growth and optimize profitability. His professional background includes experience with Microsoft, Exelon, MCI Worldcom, AT&T, MIT, Black & Veatch, Citibank, MTN, Airtel, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Barclays Bank, the European Union and Emirates Airlines. Greg served as a faculty member at the Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management in the Finance and Global Programs departments teaching the Global Initiatives in Management course, which focuses on business in emerging markets.

As one of the most respected emerging technology and thought leaders on global business today, Greg speaks regularly at global business conferences on digital transformation and driving performance improvements in operations, processes, culture and change leadership. He has been featured in leading business publications, among them the Wall Street Journal, Voice of America, and Black Enterprise. In 2012, Greg was invited by then U.S. Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, to speak at her Global Business Conference. In 2017, Greg was a U.S. representative at the Africa CEO Forum and in 2014 and 2015 was named by African Business Magazine as one of the Top 100 Economic Leaders under 40 in Africa.

Prior to his work with Avencion, Greg was a management consultant for Deloitte Consulting Group in the Post-Merger and Acquisitions, Strategy, Operations and Technology practices, focusing on telecommunication, fintech, government and energy industries. He is an advisor to private equity firms and Fortune 1000 companies on business development and strategic investments. He also a recurring speaker at the University of Chicago, Harvard, Duke, Wharton and Cambridge graduate business schools. Greg runs a fellowship program for undergraduate, mid-career and MBA students focused on gaining business experience in emerging markets. In addition, he is passionate about working with underprivileged youth in the U.S. and abroad. He is the founder of the Global Leadership Program, a youth empowerment initiative with the mission to increase leadership, entrepreneurship and economic opportunities for youth in cities in the U.S. and Africa.
