Biography

Ashish Patel is the Managing Partner-Credit at Aavishkaar Capital and leads the Africa market where he drives the vision of the ESG First Fund forward. An Industry veteran he has been involved with growth companies for over 20 years and has strategic, operational and investment experience. Before joining Aavishkaar Capital to lead Africa, he was the Managing Director for Sub-Sahara Africa at Aureos, based in Nairobi. Prior to that, he headed Strategy, Emerging Markets and Corporate Development at AVG Technologies where he also severed as a Board Member until 2010 before which he was the Managing Director for Intel Capital in Europe where he invested and exited from some of the leading European success stories including Yandex, Suse, AVG and also was responsible for a number of Intel’s European acquisitions and integrations. Over the last decade, Ashish has invested in over 40 young businesses in Europe, Africa, Asia and US with direct responsibility of over $1.2bn of investment portfolio. Ashish qualified as an ACA with PWC, London where he was a member of the Corporate Finance Advisory practice mainly for large cap international businesses.
