Biography

“Angus is the CEO of Minit Money, South Africa’s leading blockchain remittance business. This is the culmination of a career founding and leading innovative payments businesses in South Africa.

Angus was part of the founding team in 2000, and later CEO of eBucks.com. As the world’s first bank-backed digital currency, this business made a lasting mark on the South African eCommerce, banking and loyalty landscape. He served FirstRand Bank for 11 years in various senior roles, including leading the Vodacom Financial Services partnership. Following that he was the Head of Alliance Banking and CIO at JSE-listed Mercantile Bank for 4 years. He then introduced payment capabilities to Blue Label Telecoms and MMI Holdings, serving at executive level with these listed companies. In the past few years he has helped create several ‘challenger’ FinTech ventures including BETTR Bank (a neobank serving Gen-Z creatives); Intergreatme (a self-sovereign digital identity service) and Centbee (a global blockchain-based digital wallet).”
