Biography

Mr. Bainbridge, a British citizen naturalized in Seychelles, is a Fellow of the Institute of Directors in Southern Africa and a Fellow of the Institute of Financial Services. He is presently the Chairman of Guarantco Limited (a Mauritian company) and the Infrastructure Crisis Facility Debt Pool LLP. He was the Managing Director of Barclays PLC for Africa and Indian Ocean regions and former Chief Risk Officer for the Western Hemisphere (Africa, India, Middle East, Europe and the Americas) at Standard Chartered Bank. He was previously Global Head of Commercial Clients and Group Head, US Supervisory Remediation Programme for Standard Chartered Bank. He was also a former Non-Executive Director of Gulf African Bank, the first Islamic Bank in Kenya and a Board Member of Nouvobanq in Seychelles.

Mr. Bainbridge has extensive experience throughout Africa, Asia and the Middle East, across retail & consumer banking, corporate, commercial and SME lending, financial institutions and transactional digital banking. He is and has been an ‘’approved’’ person by Central Banks in multiple jurisdictions across Africa, Indian Ocean, Middle East and the UK during his career.
