Caixa Económica de Cabo Verde, Cape Verde

Caixa Económica was established on May 18, 1928 with the name of “Caixa Económica Postal”, comprised in the “Post and Telegraph Services” under the authority of the Ministry of Telecommunications.
On December 30, 1985, Caixa was transformed into an autonomous financial institution named Caixa Económica de Cabo Verde, EP under the control of the Ministry of Finance.
In 1993, Caixa Económica de Cabo Verde shifted from a public company to a limited liability company, which favored its participation in the financial system as a universal bank.

Caixa´s development, that was based on the growth of the deposits, loans granted, own funds, etc, was provided by, the extending of the range of products and services, extending of the range of branches, introduction of a new customer relationship style and modern and inovative IT solutions.
In 2012 Caixa became the 1st bank in Cape Verde attaining the Quality Management Systems and Information Security Management System certifications, according to the international standards ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 27001:2005.
