Biography

George is the Managing Principal and Head of Global Markets – Absa Regional Operations. He is a seasoned Banker with extensive professional experience in Sales Trading, Treasury management and business leadership within multicultural settings.

George joined the Absa Corporate and Investment Bank team in South Africa initially as the Head of Trading for Absa Regional Operations and subsequently as Head of Sales Trading. Prior to that, he was a member of the Barclays Bank Ghana Country Management team as Director – Country Treasurer & Head of Global Markets. Before that, he worked in the Structured Products Group at Barclays Investment Bank in the UK.

George is an Africa Financial Markets development enthusiast. He is a Chartered Accountant and holds a BSc. Accounting degree and an MBA both from the University of Ghana.
